Every Jack Needs: “I have just the place”

Every man needs a friend who owns a restaurant. 

It is essential that you find one. Whether it’s a first date or courting an important client for work,  the time will come when you need reliable service, complimentary appetizers, a few drinks on the house, the off-the-menu menu and, well if you haven’t got the hint already, extra special attention. But make sure you choose wisely. The previous benefits mean nothing if the food is second rate.

But what if you haven’t met this friend yet? Well, it’s not impossible. Next time you’re at a restaurant that has the makings to be the place, just ask the waiter to speak with the owner or manager. Build his ego up a bit, compliment his menu, the decor, the service, exchange business cards and your right on track, with the addition of a few more regular dinner stops, to making a friend in the restaurant biz. 

So the next time your boss asks you last minute to take a client who’s in town on business out to dinner, you’ll respond with “I have just the place.” JB
